Hunan Garden 2 in Alabaster

Hunan 2 gets so much of the Walls income it's not even funny. It was even worse when we lived a little closer and both my wife and I worked in Alabaster. The staff seriously will remember you by name and remember specific things about your order (and shame you when you have been gone for too long, which we love). They really appreciate their customers and the food is always absolutely amazing. Some of our favorite things are: Mongolian Beef, Egg Foo Young, Buddha's Delight, Vegetable Lo Mein, Mu Shu Pork, sweet and sour chicken, and beef Mei Fun.

its awesome! I'm a bit confused by some of the reviews. We love it and drive 30 minutes to get there...Their hot and sour soup rocks! The service is great and the food prepared fresh. Also highly recommend the fried bananas. makes me hungry thinking about it :)

Food quality is ok but service is terrible. Two people in our party had to ask for their dishes after everyone else go there's. Once we finally received our food we never saw the server again. Empty drinks for most of the meal. Bathrooms are also in deplorable condition. Had I visited the bathroom before I ordered I would have left. I would recommend taking your Chinese food business elsewhere.

My wife and I will never go to this restaurant again. The beef egg fu young was horrible(we were crunching eggshells with every bite). Also we order 8 chicken wings and only received 7...this was annoying because this was a pick up order so it was disappointing to learn they shorted us. And lastly, the seafood mixture dish tasted horrible almost as if dirty water was used to cook it. I called back the next day to alert the restaurant of how horrible the food was and she didn’t seem surprised.

Food is great. Service with new owners is continuing to improve as time goes by. I have added one more star.

Place is sparsely decorated. No one understands English very well. Food was decent, but everything needed salt BADLY. Location is hard to find without GPS. Prices are a little high. Overall we had an ok lunch. And despite what Google says, they DO NOT have a Buffet!

This is a really good & fresh Chinese Restaurant. They have a great Lunch special & give you a plentiful plate.

Very friendly staff. The takeout is always more than we can eat. So, we always have leftovers for the next meal.

The food since the change in management is even better than before. Service was very good at lunch.Restaurant has recently changed ownership and staff. I'll update review after visiting again.We always have good experiences here. The quality of ingredients and care in preparation is far better than one would expect in this price range. Excellent value on lunch specials.

Very neat and welcoming restaurant. They serve generous meals and for reasonable prices. We enjoyed the meals very much and the staff were very affable and explanatory. Recommended.

Anna is great. Love the hot and sour soup.better then before. My favorite food I like to eat is always on point .

My Wife and I have been customers at least once a week for 28 years. Andy and Wendy kept a clean restaurant and good wait staff all the years with food second to none.The new owners could care less about their customers and the food quality is rock bottom, we both became ill after our last visit. Will we visit again, NEVER! Now looking for a new restaurant. We miss Andy and Wendy, enjoy your retirement, you deserve it.

Hunan shrimp was tough and still had tails. The food was hot. Service ok.

I order to go food with them all the time. They even know be by name when I walk in now. The food is always hot and plenty of it for the price.

Best Chinese food I've had in YEARS!!! I drive over an hour for this food.

We like a lot eating out. Last night we arrived in this fine restaurant which friends recommended to us. We passed a lovely time there with fine food and a well-trained crew and an impressive chief cook. We put this place in our list and we shall definitely come back very soon. We warmly recommend.

I've been eating here since I was a little girl. It's hands down my favorite Chinese food ever. Prices are great too. The only thing that would make it better is delivery!

Would give 0 stars if I could. It took forever to get our food and when we got it, both our orders were wrong. We decided to eat what was brought to us instead of sending it back and it was cooked terribly. They forgot our soup and when they finally brought it out, guess what wrong soup.

We ordered and door dash brought it to us. It was THE NASTIEST THING THAT WE HAVE EVER GOTTEN!! WE WILL NOT BE EATING THEIR FOOD AGAIN EVER. THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO REFUND OUR $44.97 AND THEY HAVE NOT!!!

Literally the best Chinese I've ever had, and I've had a million different places. Amazing friendly staff and perfectly cooked food every time. Huge portions too. Can't recommend enough.

I live fairly close to this restaurant and enjoy picking up food from there fairly frequently. I generally order kung pao chicken with no mushrooms and extra peanuts. I really like Kung Pao chicken and these people know how to make it. It seems to be a family-run restaurant and the family that runs it is very nice. I've never had a bad experience.

The portions are small for how expensive they are. You don't even get a egg roll with dinner. The food was ok. It was my first and last time going, I'll stick to what I know

I have always loved this place growing up in this area! Food is always fresh (white chicken!!!) And the service is great! Today was my birthday and told the wife "Hunan Garden 2" was where I wanted to go. Only a few people on the side we set on but our server(not knowing it was my Bday) was great and on point! This place does not disappoint!!!

New owner was rude. Food isn't the same and never will be that Andy's gone!

Egg roll did not taste good, rice was bland and Kung Pao chicken was barely edible. I used to love going here but seems like the quality has gone down hill.

The food wasn't very good. I ordered Chinese & broccoli. The chicken had no flavor basically tasted like it was just boiled in water 🤢 the egg rolls were dripping with grease. Would not recommend this place.

Excellent restaurant and wonderful staff. Eat here all the time, though mostly take out. Their curry is awesome and my wife loves the Lo Mein. Anna is always very attentive and her daughter does a great job of keeping every one entertained. Wonderful flavor and great service. Happy to frequent this place.

Not as good as they use to be. Won't eat here anymore.

Even with new ownership this place is still one of my favorites to go to for lunch on a sunday or take our durring the week
